Former KTHV Anchor Becomes Financial Advisor
I had several sources on this story. From e-mails I received it was in the daily Bull Whiz e-letter and Arkansas Business.com has a story about it. Former KTHV anchor anchor Andy Pearson has given up the anchor chair to be a financial advisor for UBS Financial Services Inc. What does Pearson have to say about the move? “The television business had sort of changed, and the single thing I enjoyed most about it was the ability to help people and tell their stories,” said Pearson. “What better way to help someone than to do it financially? That could potentially last for generations.”

The only thing that's not accurate in the Arkansas Business article is that Pearson didn't choose not to negotiate his contract. That decision was made for him.
Where do their reporters get their stuff? From Larry Audas' mouth to Jeff Hankins ears?

Sounds so much like this business. Andy Pearson is lucky to be so unlucky. This game is filled with losers in management who tend to ruin what could otherwise be a fun industry.
Andy was one of the best journalists in the market. Viewers liked him and felt like they had a history with him from his KATV days. He was by far a better anchor for THV than Audas ever was.

Those words are true. The only people in broadcasting that management cares about are the sales people. All the rest, especially technicians and production people, are necessary evils.
Is "financial adviser" fancy talk for Krispy Kreme manager? Cause dude would EXCEL at that.
Oh, and Andy Pearson is an enormous dick who was hated by all his co-workers. Classy.

Ultimately I don't believe he wanted to be there(THV/Audusville) and had other plans and goals for his life and willed them to happen. The circumstances of that happening are irrelevant.
Who wouldn't want more out of life? Being in a position where you're not appreciated(at the time anyway..ha!..sorry LA..hehe), always having the MCFloatys(related to MCzillioncaloriemeal?) jealous of and jabbing at you topped with horrible working hours and the whole pettiness of the news business wouldn't come close to a fulfilling life for me either.
You've created a wonderful spot for yourself and with your communication/people skills you're bound to go far! You worked hard for your successes in the news business and my bet is that will carry over into your new venture.
Glad to hear life is going well but you'll always be missed during the news hour....

Broadcasting is a crappy business that only gives petty people a chance to make petty comments about these anchors. When news about Andy was sparse he was a martyr, the best thing to happen to Little Rock broadcasting. Before he left and now it seems again people seem to feel comfortable taking shots at his weight constantly.
And I hate to even think of what all the people who write on this look like.

Interesting that there was nothing in the paper today about Dawn's supposed long awaited return to the airwaves. But there was something about where Andy Pearson was going.

That's really not so surprising 1:16. That ran in Paper Trails and the lady who writes it doesn't run anything that's not spoonfed to her.

I disagree. Bob is a great anchor. Inman is pretty good as well.
I agree, Bob and Scott are alright. Bob seems to be a little better, though. KTHV will fall in the ratings. Dawn just doesn't attract me into watching. She's seemed uncomfortable and frankly, kind of fake since she came back to LR.... But that's not saying much, because Anne has been here forever, and has always seemed fake.... there's just not any chemistry between them. I like Anne, she's a professional, but it wouldn't hurt for her to smile or convincingly laugh on camera every once and a while, even if it's not sincere. One thing I like about Christina Munoz is that she really seems to enjoy her job, and genuinely likes her co-workers. Of course, this is just a viewer's opinion.
I watched Andy do live shots on many occasions. He would stay in the RV until a few minutes before his shot... lumber out just in time to do the shot.... sweat through it.. then drag himself bac into the RV and start eating again. He was not interested in meeting anyone or being nice to the public.
Just because you're on TV doesn't mean you have to like being around people.
You should try to fake it whenever possible though.

But if true, Little Rock viewers can't whine anymore about the lack of quality TV. Because if you think what 11 won with in February is the best, there's a lot more coming your way.

THV has won the 10 the last two books. Liz has been carrying the load and it will only get better now that she has help again. Give LIz some credit.
Can't you concede a loss with any degree of grace. KATV is losing ground even with a #1 showing at 5 and 6.
Sounds like all the bitter prognosticators who put THV at #4 were using their emotions and not their brains.
Ah... pure sentimentality...if it's true as some posters have put on here that Andy Pearson still gets more phone calls as to his whereabouts 90 days after he left, then it would make sense that it hasn't sunk in that Pearson is gone.
Plus since we're still in the dark ages when it comes to ratings calculation, any major changes at a station don't usually reflect in the ratings book for sometime.
Then again, maybe 11 managers are kicking themselves in the head that they could have saved so much money with one mediocre anchor.

These are rounded off, don't have the decimals yet which means some of the gaps may be larger. How 'bout Daybreak coming in at #3? The morning is more competitive than in the past huh?
Why is THV doing so poorly in the 5 p.m. slot? KARK is doing well in the mornings.. because.. they're plain working harder and offering a better product.
Speaking of mornings, does anybody know why Robyn and Tom have not signed their contracts yet? They have both been awful quiet about it too.
I don't know... but it would be a sea-change if there was a big contract squabble and neither stayed! Lots of the viewers would turn to KARK.. then they would be #1 for sure !
