KTAL Loses the Lottery
This from the tip box:
After numerous complaints the Louisiana Lottery
is leaving KTAL in Shreveport and returning to their original station
KTBS/KPXJ effective Monday August 20th. The lottery show will are
nightly on KPXJ CW 21 then re-air on KPXJ's sister station KTBS ABC 3.

Finally. KTAL messes up the the lottery show all the time.
Is this one of the "changes" someone eluded to a few weeks ago on the KTAL thread?
Well it's about time. They should have never left KTBS in the first place, and to move over to KTAL of all places. What a bad decision that turned out to be.
Good riddance. The lottery is a pain and we're glad we won't have to deal with them any more.
So why did they move it? What were the complaints??? Can we get the whole story please??
Put it this way... 90% of the mistakes (espically the frequent lack of audio) was their fault... not ours. Happy to see it gone.

Who needs audio ? I could see my losing numbers on the screen.......
Doesn't KARK in Little Rock operate KTAL's master control now?

Yes, KARK does run KTAL's master control, but the lottery is still run from Shreveport, not Little Rock.

You are wrong about that. It's not just a resent problem. KTAL has been messing up the lottery show since they first started airing it three or four years ago.
Good, now that the lottery is moving back over to 3/21 I don't have any reason to watch 6 any more.
I feel the same way. 10:54 AM. Glad to know all my complaints to Baton Rouge have finally payed off.
Your original story stated there were complaints. What complaints? I am asking the blog person, not everyone else that simply want to bash KTAL.
I don't know where you guys get your info. But the truth is the station felt it could make more money off of the 30 to 60 seconds than the lottery was paying. The contract was not renewed. End of story.
I'm confused. I saw the Powerball drawing on KTAL last night after the Cowboys-Chargers game. Is this going to change after August?
Oops! My bad, change goes into effect Aug.20th
That may be what management is telling you, but that is not what actually happened. It is also not what the lottery is saying. I started complaining directly to the Louisiana Lottery's home office in Baton Rouge last year. Two months ago I received emails from three lottery execs telling me because of all the problems and breach of contract "we are exploring other options." Unless KTAL is going to sell that 9:59:30 time slot at the end of primetime they are not going to make any extra money.
